The City of Pinole Senior Center (2500 Charles Avenue) can be set up to serve as a cooling center during extreme heat events. Per City guidelines, the Senior Center will be opened as a cooling center if the National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts that Pinole will experience two consecutive days with high temperatures of 95 degrees or more and necessary staff is available.

The City maintains a developer interest list that is utilized annually to contact affordable housing developers with information about sites to facilitate development of affordable rental housing and housing for special needs populations.

The EDS is a strategic framework to guide the City of Pinole’s economic development policies and programs over the next 5 years and is based on a comprehensive research and stakeholder input process, and reflects consensus views on the most promising opportunities and the most pressing challenges facing Pinole’s economy.

The City Clerk is responsible for administering the City’s general municipal elections and special elections for both candidates and measures, and processing petitions relating to initiatives, recalls, and referendums. The City of Pinole General Municipal Election is held during even-numbered years. The City Council is comprised of five members elected at large to four-year terms. The Mayor is rotated amongst the Council on a yearly basis. In addition to Council Members, the City Treasurer is also an elected position.

The Pinole Youth Program offers different classes and activities throughout the year for children 3-17 at several facilities and parks. Find a class here to help your child develop his/her interests/passions, new talents, and challenge them in areas of academic, sports, and social development.

The City of Pinole offers facilities throughout the City for the community to enjoy and host private events. With large and small meeting spaces and party venues to meet group needs, reservations can be made for the Pinole Senior Center, Pinole Youth Center, and Pinole Swim Center.
