Abandoned vehicle abatement

The Police Department removes abandoned vehicles that create a public nuisance and a health or safety hazard. To report an abandoned vehicle, please Email or call dispatch and provide the location, make, model, color, and license plate.

Information for those interested in additional development opportunities for citizens, such as accessory dwelling units (ADUs), junior accessory dwelling units (JADUs), and SB9 units and lot splits is available online.

Aerobics

SilverSneakers Classic is an Aerobic Exercise class offered at the Pinole Senior Center on Tuesdays at 9:30 am and Thursdays at 10 am in the Main Hall of the Senior Center. This is a strength/cardio training class. It focuses on strengthening muscles including your heart, and increasing range of movement for daily activities. Participants can use handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball for balance.

Alcoholic Beverage Permits

The Chief of Police may issue a permit allowing consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages in public places and place otherwise prohibited upon proper application. The application must be submitted thirty (30) days before the date the public consumption is requested.

Anti-Tobacco Program

The City of Pinole is committed to providing the most effective approaches to preventing the use of tobacco-flavored products in our schools and community. The Youth Anti-Tobacco Program will serve to educate Pinole students, launch a social media health campaign to raise awareness of tobacco prevention and coordinate events for the youth and public to partake in.

The application process for filling many of the City’s vacancies includes an interview by the City Council subcommittee and recommendations are submitted to the City Council for formal appointment. Boards and Commissions appointments range from two-year to four-year terms. Unless otherwise specified, the application period for these vacancies is continuous until filled.

Arts & Crafts

Arts at the Senior Center encompass a large variety of art interests amongst our senior demographic. For individuals seeking more art social settings where they can work on their individual projects there is a weekly Knitting Group who meets on Tuesdays at 10 am and a Fiber Arts Group who meets at 9:30 am on Thursdays in the Main Lobby of the Senior Center. For those interested in long term projects and have a sewing machine, there are two Quilting Group who meet on Wednesday at 9 am and Thursdays at 9:30 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. All crafting levels are welcome in each one of the art activities. Participants are asked to bring their own supplies to the classes. Each of the arts groups allow for great conversation amongst new and old friends all while sharing a love for their craft. In addition, there are occasional art workshops held throughout the year led by volunteer instructors such as the Beading Workshop and the Collage and Decoupage Workshop.

Balcony Inspection

All balconies located on real property in the City of Pinole including but not limited to residential, multiple residential, commercial and industrial properties are required to be inspected at the property owner’s expense when a triggering event occurs.

Billiards

The Pool Room is open Monday through Friday from 8 am – 4 pm. All skill levels are welcome to play. There are two standard size pool tables available for use as well as pool cues. Players are welcome to bring their own pool cue if they prefer. The primary games played in the pool room are the shorter duration games such as eight-ball, nine-ball, and elimination. In the pool room everyone gets to play and all players are welcomed to a fun and encouraging environment.

Building Permit Submittal

Citizens can apply for all Building Permit online (link to online permit center page – not created yet), including but not limited to permits for:  demolitions, remodels, additions and new structures; reroofing; water heater and HVAC installation and replacement; electrical panel replacements; generators, electric vehicle charging stations; pools and spas, window and door replacement or retrofits, stucco or siding replacement and termite and dryrot repair. All businesses transacting within the City of Pinole are required to obtain a Business License. This includes home based businesses, a fixed place of business, a contractor doing business in Pinole, or the operation of a rental property.
