Last change to save money with energy enhancement rebates before the program runs out.

The City of Pinole has launched the Pinole Energy Enhancement Rebate (PEER) Program, a new incentive program for residents looking to make energy efficiency and all-electric upgrades to their homes.

This program offers a range of rebates to help cover costs for single-family, multifamily, and fixed/low-income households. These incentives offer an incredible opportunity for Pinole residents to improve their home energy performance and save on utility bills.

PEER Program incentives are designed to be leveraged with existing local programs to save residents more money and support their home energy goals. It provides additional incentives for homes that participate in the Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) Single-Family Home+ Program, BayREN Bay Area Multifamily Building Enhancements Program, MCE Multifamily Energy Savings Program, and Contra Costa County Weatherization Program.

Projects covered by the PEER Program range from attic and wall insulation and all-electric heat pump water heaters to induction stovetops and electric panel modernization.

Single-family residents could receive a rebate of up to $4,000 for a heat pump water heater, which covers about 45% of the cost of a typical heat pump water heater project through the PEER Program. This project would also be eligible for incentives through the BayREN Home+ Program and federal Inflation Reduction Act energy tax credits.

“Through the Pinole Energy Enhancement Rebate Program, the City of Pinole is leveraging existing regional incentives to support Pinole residents in making their homes efficient, healthy, and comfortable for themselves and their families,” Mayor Maureen Toms.

The PEER Program will run for a limited time from January through the end of June 2024, or until funding runs out. Funds for the PEER Program are first-come, first-serve. The City urges residents to take advantage of this offer as soon as possible before funds run out.

This program is being administered by Contra Costa County’s Department of Conservation and Development, on behalf of the City of Pinole.
