Police

The Pinole Police Department is committed to ensuring a safe community by providing exemplary law enforcement service while engaging our citizens with Honor, Integrity, Professionalism, and Respect. The Pinole Police Department consists of thirty sworn officers, twelve dispatchers, seven full-time civilian employees, and one part-time civilian employee.

The Police Department is comprised of the following divisions (referred to as “bureaus”):

  • Operations
  • Support Services

Police Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department as well as the criminal investigations division.

Police Support Services provides support and assistance to Operations and the community. It includes front office staff who work with the public daily, Crime Prevention Officers who provide outreach into the community, the collection and processing of evidence, and the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.

The City operates the West Bay Communications Center (WBCC), which provides police dispatch services for the City of Pinole, Hercules, and San Pablo.
